The catalyst for this poster was the work of Saki Mafundikwa, a graphic designer and educator who researches and seeks out Afrikan writing and languages from different parts of Afrika. His seminal book Afrikan Alphabets includes his knowledge of many different langauges and symbols and he has lectured many times about the creativity and complexity of them.
This project involved different types of content and was printed at large scale. I considered scale, legibility, organization, and hierarchy in order to logically and efficiently guide the viewer through the poster.
