For the identity and logo of Teatro del Sale, most of my inspiration came from attending a dinner and show within the theater itself. When attending a show at the theater, you feel like more than just a member of the audience; there is a particular atmosphere of comfort and delight that comes with the family-style dining experience and humorous show.
The main elements of the logo are the raised curtain and the windows that offer a view of the kitchen and chefs, symbolizing the theater’s equal emphasis on entertainment and dining. With its strong community-oriented and traditional ambiance, I aimed to convey this essence through the hand-drawn style, which is also reflected in the illustrations comprising the identity. When selecting a typeface, I sought a blend of hand-drawn charm and traditional elements, paying homage to the theater’s history and its parent company, the restaurant group Cibrèo.
